Layout Information
The current track plan is shown here. The MIC industrial area is planned and the turnouts are cut into the mainline, though the industrial portion has yet to be built. Not all of the industries and spur tracks are indicated. The layout scenery is complete despite the lack of detail on the plan. The 2 points of "D" along the bottom wall are an under layout 4 track staging yard called the coal branch. Here, four unit coal trains of around 24 cars are staged. The mainline tracks disappearing under the layout at the bottom left lead to a double deck, under layout, loop style staging yard that has 5 tracks on each deck. Each track can hold a train of roughly 25 cars.
The Crooked Creek RR 3’ narrow gauge runs over and under the standard gauge on the lower left peninsula and is shown in orange. Where you see the standard gauge wye, there is a coal yard featuring dual gauge trackage.
Midwest Traction is a live, overhead-wire traction system shown in blue.
